tom17 18
There is a flock of feral pigeons that are messing over the garden and sitting on the roof of my house they are attracted because my neighbour keeps feeding them in her garden. I want to get the air rifle out and shoot a few but don't think it will go down well with the neighbour, any suggestions to deter them away from house? Quote Link to post

Astral 253
I have the same problem! Feckers keep shitting on my car, trouble is house is split into flats and as Im on the bottom I have no actual access to the roof, They live in the rafters and cause an epic issue but landlord wont sort it, asked him if I could sort a few and he declined as he was scared I'd shoot bullets through the wall... I did explain I use an air rifle not ballistic missiles.... Won't even let me stick a trap up as it would inconvenience him having to drop a key down to me. grr. Quote Link to post
youcanthide...BANG 1,051
bird of prey decoy just keep moving it about. but then you could get a mob of crows after it Quote Link to post
Matt 160
As feral pigeons are a public health pest, your landlord has a duty of care to you to ensure they are not jeopardizing your health. Report it to the Local Authority, and your landlord, and they can take action to stop people encouraging them into the area. Trying to shoot them in an urban situation is asking for trouble, and will have little effect if someone is feeding them. Quote Link to post

KDR 14
Hhhmmm...can he shoot them if they were causing him crop damage..? Quote Link to post
outandabout 27
Only as a last resort after other methods have been used and failed... If there wasn't such a big industry behind feral pigeon proofing, I'm sure it'd be legal to dispatch them in almost any situation. Quote Link to post
