dytkos 17,800
The best workers aren't often the best lookers and vice-versa. A show is a beauty contest, the field is the place to decide the overall quality of the dog. There are lots of cracking looking, fit, conditioned dogs with great conformity at the shows. Several have never had a hard day/night out, never mind a normal working session. Surely everybody knows this? I once judged a show in Yorkshire when I got heckled for being a "black" (terrier) man. At that time I'd only ever owned one black dog, and he was very average. The black dogs were the best lookers, that why I picked them Happy show season folks Cheers, D. i heard someone say he`s a russell man a russell will win it ---i`d judged 7 shows that year and not put a russell up Cheers, D. lofti 579
At the end of the day your only getting in the ring with your lurcher and paying your pound for the judges opinion. People forget that. 2 Quote Link to post
