thurso jack 3
was out a wander on some new permission last night moving with game and four times in a row the lamp died at the vital point just as i was about to slip the dog, to say i was f*****g livid is an understatemant!! my question is, the cigar butt would be hot to touch and the fuse in the batterey pack kept on blowing, what could be wrong with it? (im crap at these things) off to get it looked at today but im seriously considering just buying a different set up as ive lost confidence in the lightforce rigs, if its not one thing its another!!! wag 13
hi. dont bother spending your money on a new lamp i had the same problem kept buying new plugs changing them same happend again. what i did i got some plugs that you use on electric lawn mowers were they join in the middle . wired them up and bingo no more probs you might have to change the wire from your battery to a bit stronger one and still put a in line fuse in saves you from blowing your bulb. i have done that with all 3 of my light force lamps now with no probs .hope this is of help to you Quote Link to post
thurso jack 3
i think ill have to get it re wired, why is the plug heating up? i assume this is causing the fuses to blow? Quote Link to post
wag 13
dont know mine in the landrover melted 3 times the lights are great its just the plugs that let them down Quote Link to post
jpt 285
You would think the company would have sorted these problems out by now. Gonna have to f**k about to sort it out but you shouldn't have to. JPT Quote Link to post
IanB 0
I always cut the cigar plug off lamps and crimp female spade connectors on, there a better connection, never bother with fuses no more neither..lightforce are good beam especially for bigger stuff, the clusons great as well, all down to personal choice... thurso jack 3
to be fair, i cant fault the beam, but 3 times when we came upon bigger stuff, it decided to pack in right at the crucial time, i was seriously very close to crying i swore lastnight i was going to buy a different set up, but ive put it to an agricultural mechanic today so he can try and re-wire it with some heavy duty stuff. hopefully it will be sorted now Quote Link to post
elma-fudd 0
tj the first thing i done when i got ma lightforce was to cut the fag lighter bit of dont have a fuse etheri do notice the connections get alittle hot but only after constent use never had mine go down on me,fanar-fanar lol Quote Link to post

thurso jack 3
maybe? but you dont have as much game should b sorted now though, done away with the cigar plug etc. :clapping: Quote Link to post
Guest Leveller
The lamps pull far to many amps for the cigar lighter you need to change this and make sure it's a decent dry connection then you shouldn't get any problems at all unless it's burnt out the switch or any other parts in the circuit.
