I hate when people try to tell me they have a micro ferret lol ..

Its just the runt of the litter breeding with another runt and another few years down the line they are all runts lol NOT MICRO FERRETS

Breeding from a true runt ,, would be a bad idea in any species,,,, however ,, all smaller versions of any animal have been bred by breeding small ,, to small,,,, doesn't mean there runts ,

 

How do you think we ended up with terriers,,, out of wolves ?

Ya can't get different types of breedin in ferrets.. Unless its like an EU polecat bred with a ferret.. We tell difference in ferrets by colour not by breed there not like pigs or dogs etc...

again, they are not a separate breed, they are a type brought about by selective breeding.

 

...and they are seriously screwed up. They are unable to nurse their own young and lack the double coat that a normal ferret has. Just some of the shite you risk when breeding for over exaggerated features over health..

don't know about ferret runts breeding but I think quite a few of the families around here are the product of runts breeding

I don't see why you couldn't produce a smaller line that weren't the product of breeding the runts. In dogs for example you get different sizes of the same breed standardised, such as in poodles, schnauzers etc in the obligatory standard, miniature and toy Also previously people on here have told us about smaller lines they have kept going for twenty years plus, they couldn't have just used runts as the health problems would have mounted up

I am not sure anyone claims that a smaller ferret is a new species, it is just a small ferret people call micro. Not sure what the issue is here as it is pretty obvious that you can selectively breed to make any species bigger/smaller or a different colour. It is like saying there is no such thing as an albino ferret, just eu ferrets without pigmentation
