I shoot a Weirauch HW97k in 177 and it certainly does the job on the rabbits. Thats what I mainly use it for. Not a bad air rifle to shoot from a car window either :whistling:

if its car windows yer shootin from ye'll be wanting a stealth....teke the silencer off and its tiny !

177cal for fether and 22cal for fur is what they used to say bt nowadays theres alot of people useing 177cal for all there shooting i prefer 22cal

i accually find the .22 better for feather than 177 as it has more stopping power, 177 tends to carryon strait through and pigeons fall a feild away if not head shot

This debate has been going on for decades, and there's still no definate answer. As Lurcherman said, they used to say .22 = fur & .177 = feather, but i think it comes down to personal prefrence. Some people swear by .22, because of the greater punch, some people prefer .177 because of the accuracy and penetration. I suppose it all depends on how you shoot, what range you shoot at etc. I've always used .22 because it's what i've been brought up with, all my dad's airguns were .22.

I'm sorely tempted to get a .177 next time, but for me it will be a leap of faith, because i've never used one! :D

i use .22 for most things especially lamping , shorter distance and when they go down they stay down .

anyway just gone back to .177 cal , seem to get that little bit more accuracy lee way , but i prefer to use the heavier pellet ie .JSB heavies etc , so loose a bit of the flatter flight of the lighter 177 pellets
