Not Quite Daycoursing.... But Not Lamping Either?

After finiahing work this evening i was racing against daylight to exercise the dogs...

 

I got to the land at 9ish and the sun was fast dropping.. just a distant red gpow in the sky. A short walk up the lonning and i got in first field. I could see a shadowy figure running across the brow of the hill.... so could the dogs.. not on thr menu im afraid just a young un..

 

Anyway i soon spotted another target. It was jet for a run first. Upto his quarry and they jumped through a gap in the hedge.. i stood at the hedge waiting for any tell tale signs...

 

 

As i stood..i looked back, up the hedge, thrres a wood... opposite the wood maybe 150 yards is a patch of roughland.

 

I turned back again and i saw something... light was fading fast... and i couldnt work out what it was.. tyson could so with a positive pull on the slip i trusted his instincts...

 

He got maybe 20yards from it and it never moved i started thinking it was a patch of reeds but no it moved.... with a fast approaching dog this fella wasnt sticking around back towards the wood he went but must of misjudged where he wanted and turned towards the scrub....

 

At this point jet reappeared and followed the course...

 

I can only imagine they went through the scrub.. doubled back through a field and into the wood again

 

 

Again i waited for any signs.. there wasnt a breath of wind so i could hear a lot... with dogs crashing through the woods you could hear the birds being disturbed.... then came the bad bit..... silence..

 

I waited myself in silence giving the occasional sharp whistle..... what seemed like an hour but was probably 5 mins the dogs reapeared. Toungues out

 

No contact made but they had a bloody good run

And the only artificial light was that of the camera flash
