Personally i think 4 to 6 digs a month .... Depending on type of earths and style of dog...

i had a dog that you could dig as many as you wanted in 1 day-but would not let him out of the kennel till he had healed 100%-he would happily of worked the next day but there comes a time when YOU need to weigh up the odds-use them sore and sicken them or rest them and hope they learn some descretion-this dog never bayed till he was 8 yr of age-and still too hard ;) i have dug other dogs 4/6 times in a week-because they have a different style-bred down from the hard boy.atb bobby

I agree with you there... Although I won't keep a hard dog now( my partner does though )... 8 digs to one dog in a day is the most we have done... But most of them were shitty little places.. Knowing your dogs limitations is a must....and I suppose the amount of terriers you keep depends how much work each gets.

I should add to keep on the subject that all the terriers we keep are all old nuttal lines ...apart from the old boy who a lad from Shropshire bred...
