Why do people think it was wrong to catch hares on the lamp but thought it was fine to catch rabbits, fox etc on the lamp?   Usually these same people seem to think it was fine to catch breeding an

Get a feckin life thers no rules to this stuff whatever feeds me and the dogs gets catched day or night end of

To be honest...it's way to late in the game for me to get sanctimonious and moralistic...but with this modern technology in not sure these "what's the most" threads do us any favours...

any lads i know that are from hunting backrounds would never lamp a hare as it is unsporting, seems to be lads that wernt shown how to respect their quarry that do it

, A hare runs blindly at half pace at night in circles trying to find a gap or a gate that it will probably bounce off, a fox or rabbit on a lamp will make its escape through the nearest fenceline at night, each to his own and no amount of agueing will stop the lads that think its ok to do it, but i have never seen a lad that has owned a good dog that can show a great race on a winter ever even think of lamping one

the hare i would imagine would still run blindly at night even in a big field, its killing another mans sport lamping them if you want a run their is plenty of rabbits and foxs at night so why not leave the hare to the lads that keep dogs to hunt them, if you wanted to want run a hare do it in fairly in daylight, thats my opinion i not getting involved in arguements or slanging match which these threads always end up

i wouldnt lamp them any the old lurchermen around here say theirs men that have lurchers and theirs lurchermen and they wouldnt think much of someone fouling a hare, seeing a good hare raced in winter given fairplay is a great sight thats why i would take no joy in seeing one lamped, most dogs that are used lamping hares wouldnt get near one in daylight , i never heard the term daywalkers until tonight, most lads like myself enjoy ferreting digging lamping and bushing

Day - night , all quarry deserves to be given the chance to be ran another day -night ? As long it's single handed and it's took , killed quick and fast , no doubled up shit , can't see the problem ? People may disagree , but at the end of the day it's how you go about, I've lamped lots of hares in one night , seeing 4-6-in one field , then more in the next field , but I wouldn't think about taking the odd one or two , but I like to see them , so take what we need , I no the dogs could get more , but what's the point , they there for next time , happy Lamping ?
