Some good marking there, what i really liked about my old Whippet X Bedlington, and you cant teach this.

she would silently mark, then lie down behind the bury waiting for the bolt, after a bit, if there was no bolt, and a dig was on, she would slink off, without you noticing, after the dig you would find her waiting behind the next occupied bury.

she did this all her working life, what a time it saved and put more bunnies in the bag.

She is sadly missed.

Both my dogs are good ferreting dogs. One is a 24" sal/whip/grey and the other is a 26" beddy/grey.

 

Both mark well, both are patient and quiet and both catch bolters...

Sound. She's a "proper lurcher" in my eyes. When I was a kid I always wanted one that looks like her.

Im picking up my first lurcher in two weeks, shes a collie/grey/whippet. Hopefully she'll pick up the ferreting game well enough .

my best (ferreting dog), if im honest would be a wippet x jack russel, otherwise collie x greyhound ! foxtails !
