The Lurcher "in Field, fen, forest And Scrub"

Recommended Posts

Just finished it, Had to hide it from myself and start two other books to distract me from reading the whole thing in one night though, you can get very engrossed in all the discussions! Very much enjoyed it and well worth a read to those still deciding if to buy it.

I loved the USA section about coyote hunting, and the insights into each hunters techniques and feelings. Bit annoyed its finished now, could do with some suggestions on more hunting books now!

Great read Simon well done.

I enjoyed mine a different slant on most books that talk about the author only ... Its good to read how others hunt and what mindset they have on the hunting world and how they view the lurcher and its quarry ... What I would have maybe liked would have been different questions posed to different people so that you were not always getting the same questions and answers ... Overall a thoroughly enjoyable read  ..............

Finally finished it for the second time last week. Initially, I wasn't overly impressed, the size of the book was a little disappointing.

Read it through and again initially, I thought some of the questions were a bit repetative.

Photos were decent, given some were many years old and reproduced.

Quality of the manufacture of the book was decent, of the content,

some contributors didn't say much that was anything but some were excellent.

I like a book to entertain, educate and enthrall me.

It did the first two.

All in all, is it a classic? No. Was it worth reading? Yes.

Will I buy volume two? Course I will!

7/10 IMO

Hope you take this as constructive criticism Si :laugh::laugh::thumbs:

Cheers, D.

I agree with you D

You put that very diplomatically..

Think if you had not been around the internet for a few years, more of the content would be original..

I gave mine to my mates boy, he was buzzing over the book..

I think it was good - but for me I had seen a lot of the pictures and read the stories before with Stabs, Tomo & Andy..

I liked the chapter by Paul :victory:
