fret78 87
Just though I'd share a bit of an experience I had today. I've only just this week started looking for my first permissions. Today I visited a farm/riding stables that also had a farm shop. as usual there wasn't much happening until I told him that any rabbits or woodys would be given to the shop, this made him much more responsive, so maybe a little bribe of rabbits and woody's prepped for the farmers may be the way in. Fingers crossed.. Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
I recently last week dropped off a couple of rabbits to my land owner, he likes to make a stew, keeps him happy and keeps me shooting Quote Link to post
fret78 87
It puts shooters in a good light too. Not bribery obviously, but that we aren't just about getting the permission but helping manage their land and they get the benefits. Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
The odd bottle of scotch doesn't go amiss with most of them either, or in my landowners case, my home made prize winning sloe gin, cherry brandy or rice whiskey... 2 Quote Link to post
deanothehunter 34
I always offer but they never want any shot pests, but a bottle of scotch and a card at X-mas goes a long way, and offering to help out as I did on an orchard permission apple picking, I think we should all offer our services whilst on their land even if they dont need it always offer, you cant do too much for a good landowner...... Marksman 934
Only trouble with your tip mate is that unless you're a registered game dealer a shop cannot sell the meat as if something "went wrong" they need to know where and who it came from. If they aren't registered then at worst case the shop will probably be closed down and yourself prosecuted. Darryl Quote Link to post
fret78 87
Fair enough comment. Always got to make sure you protect yourself. but if it's just giving some of the game you caught on the farmers land and he's not selling it on it won't be a problem.. Quote Link to post
