wolfy 79
There's a Huge difference in digging quarry, to torturing it!, maybe the boy in question was the latter, and the grass thought he was protecting proper digging lads, unfortunately wether we do it right or wrong were all put in the same boat by people who know nowt or care about what we do. Well never know why he done what he did , inexcusable maybe. Why can't we dig badgers again????? 1 Quote Link to post
Accip74 7,112
I first met him at the very time it was all happening...... I could be wrong here, but it wasn't so much that he just grassed these guys up, he was asked to be an expert witness.....I don't know why he agreed, I can't remember the actual circumstances of the dig......but I'm sure he may of realised he'd made a misjudged decision. He was about 76-77 at the time.....so who knows...maybe he thought there was just too many idiots getting involved in terrier work, only he knew why.......but he shouldn't be judged by that one act, the man left an amazing legacy & how many people do you know that rescued terriers with dynamite! He's a fu*king legend... 5 Quote Link to post
BOLSTER 808
And after all that hard work he puts in he goes & ruins himself by ''Jacking'' on interview , what a shame Quote Link to post
Ripstop 89
The mans passed away, And you lot still ruin him, likes been said, the black stuff thats littering all your kennels will be definately decendants from Black Davey, Tex etc. My Dad used to work terriers well with him, and was great friends, My Father is now passed as well, but he never had a bad word for him apart from his milk truck would sometimes break down. And TBH how many of yous would like a day out with him if the Oppurtunity was there. There will have been reasons to why things were done back then, but you lot think a grass is a grass, different time, different circumstances and definately a better approach to terrier work from both public and terrier people. 3 Quote Link to post

Karl maxwell hunter 0
I am one of frank bucks great grandsons, my grandad was max buck franks eldest son who carried on the buck/breay line after my great grandad passed away, I’ve been in close contact with people that bought terrier pups from him and am getting a pup soon so just wanted to say that the buck/breay lone is very much still going and are still the best foxing dogs! A lot of time and thought went in to creating the perfect work terrier. Quote Link to post
