Accip74 7,112
Just found this thread, the buck lines had already lost their edge by the 80s, so who knows whats out there now! I had 4 dogs from him in the very late 80s, 2 pups & 2 adults, 3 of them never made the grade (wouldn't stay) the other was 'Flint' who won the great Yorkshire Show in 87', now he was the 'real deal', probably the last truly great dog bred by frank ( owned by his son max at the time of purchase) 2 Quote Link to post
perthshire keeper 1,239
grassing happens more than you think and its mostly the "big hard digging lads" that spew it when they get picked up by the plod for doing somthing they should not have been there is not many you can trust in the dog game, best thing you can do is keep yourself to yourself, loose lips sinks ships remember that lads very well said, 1 Quote Link to post

Accip74 7,112
Have you tried Max's family? My dad was telling me a while back he wasn't well, so maybe not the best lead.....not sure when he last had terriers, but anything descending from what he had may be the best bet......but you probably know this right? Am i best off asking Max's family who is breeding from his line of terrier if I get in touch with them? 1 Quote Link to post

Glyn..... 5,208
go out and find a nice line of black/brown terriers that suit the work you like, because if they could be traced back you'd find they go back to Frank Bucks terriers, 1 Quote Link to post

trufflehunting 4
Frank buck never kept many terriers, but in the 70, and his were all black, but his grandson did have a crossbred terrier. Buck was a straight forward guy he would tell you to your face what his thoughts were, we never had any terriers from him but he offered the ocasional encoraging word. I will always remember him comming up trumps with a fox on a fellside when i thought his terrier was rabitting, credit to him. A good guy and a good yorkshireman 3 Quote Link to post

A good guy and a good yorkshireman When me and my dad visited him he had a couple of reduns in and his wife had a old pedigree Lakeland, which frank hated but still took it for a walk with his dogs and it went into a otter up a pipe and was nicely scared up. Mosby 355
If Frank was from Yorkshire, does it stand to reason his dogs were Yorkshire terriers? Quote Link to post
