Settling My Springer At The Waters Edge?

Recommended Posts

have a two year old springer here, who is great at field work and flushing birds. However as soon as i take him near water he makes a dash into it and its a mission to get him back in, other than keeping him on lead could anyone please help me with this problem? i would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom or knowledge thanks.

He knows alright, i have a lot of respect for spaniels and the work they do but i couldnt own one as i would probably end up killing it or having a heartattack. Start off with him on a long lead and get him steady. It all depends on what you can put up with but if he was on a syndicate shoot he would end up ruining other guns sport.

Good luck
