Corkonian 44
Here's an interesting one coming up in September - http://www.wri.ie/conference/ All the old anti's favourites are being covered - 'badger baiting' 'hare lurching' etc. Seems to be more UK organisations than I'd like getting involved - PSNI, National Wildlife Crime Unit, Scottish Badgers, RSPB. Definitely dee mac. Some of the speakers like Damien Hannigan are fighting a good fight. A lot of the NPWS staff are well clued in - many from hunting backgrounds and not just academics - I'd be surprised if they will jump on the anti's band wagon. The self promoters though want to see their names in print so will spout on about 'badger baiting' etc. because that's what will get in the papers. Again though I don't see the point in having organizations from a different jurisdiction making up such a high percentage of the speakers - they'll have plenty of anecdotal stories about 'crimes' committed over there - 'crimes' that incidentally would not be seen as such in France or the US etc. - what bearing do they have on us here in the Ireland and under Irish law??????? PSNI & National Wildlife Crime Unit - bollocks........ 1 Quote Link to post

jigsaw 11,863
how about the irish terrier federation that was newly formed a while back get its members together and fill the place to the rafters and see what they have to say.let them see theres some decent law abiding terrier folk about and not ''badger baiters'' as they like to tar us as. 4 Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
i also hope they take a strong stand on the fact that the eagles that were introduced over here are being poisioned on a large scale and concentrate on that as vehemently as they will on the terrier folk no doubt. 1 Quote Link to post

events co-ordinator 353
Usual suspects Hutchison from Scottish Badgers is a romantic he visits a site then makes up stories and trys to pass them off as evidence. He's been found out in Scottish courts thats why he's trying your side of the water. Good job my old man keeps in touch with the legal bods over there. Quote Link to post
