I once saved a women and a yorkshire terrier from a house fire.

i was in work one day an could a load of smoke coming from the house opposite the road i dropped down off the scaffold to investigate and as i got close i could to hear a woman coughing so i went around the back to a woman on all four coughing her gutts up ( not a pretty sight). i managed to get some sense out of her .i was told the dog was still in the house so i went in for a look. don't get me wrong i couldn't see any flames but the smoke was pretty dense i just stayed low and found the pooch pretty quick in the living room being a yorky i was lucky the forker didn't take my arm off but i think he new the score.

I later found out that the woman had left the dinner in the oven a bit too long. The next morning i was welcomed by a cup of tea and a crate of cans and the a nasty as fork yorky lol needless to say the tea kept flowing untill the end of the job . result  .

How big was the Yorkie?

the biggest i've ever seen :laugh:

O.k ,picture the scene , burning building ,third floor ,two badly burnt unconscious men ,my mate picks one up ,over his shoulder and slowly carries him down a burning staircase ,taking care to protect

I stopped a young Asian girl from walking out in front of a concrete lorry earlier this year. We were in the work van an out the corner of ma eye I saw a kid probably 3-4 years old walking around the corner headin for a busy road told the chap drivin to spin round at ye island an go back. If I hadn't had grabbed her she would have been wiped out I have no doubt about it. I picked her up an walked towards the houses close by. An Asian women came running towards me talking jibber jabber and looking at me like I'd come round her house Xmas morning and pissed on all the presents ! She didn't thank me ,jus gave me a load of abuse I didn't bother telling her what had happened.

Sometimes heroes arent obvious, I met one some years ago, a young mother of two children, she and her equally young husband had just been told that he had suffered a stroke, although they had already guessed. She was faced with a very uncertain future, he ran a kennels as their only income which was not going to be an option in the future, plus having moved from the north they had no close family support. She now had two children, a disabled husband stuck in hospital for an indeterminate period of time, no income and no support.

I was having one of those days as in the next bay were a couple of patients who had been admitted with little above drinking to much the night before, they were demanding that we get them hospital transport home, complaining that the breakfast wasnt to their tastes and generally hassling the staff.

I had just come from asking them to settle down as they were disturbing the other, elderly, patients when the young stoke victims wife came over to the desk, tears still in her eyes, she asked if we had a phone she could use to try and get someone to collect her children from school, I gave her the ward phone. After her call she came over with her purse and tried to pay for the call. The stark difference between the bravery of the young woman facing the unknown who expected to pay her way and the drunken lads said it all, I admit to turning away with tears in my eyes

Yes mate you would have thought they'd take better care of the little girls tho as there worth a few camels or donkeys when they auction them off for arranged marriages. This happened down near centrum 100 near burton skips so u know how many wagons are round there.
