tinytiger 831
I was told the other day there are no blue ancestors in Fell Terriers or Patterdales. When I started giving proof of blue ancestors I was deleted from the group after Daniel accused me of going to Wikipedia and changing their description, because he knows for a fact it did not say they were sometimes blue three days ago. LOL! Anyway I said I would give more evidence and page numbers from the book the Fell Terrier. Since I can not get on that group I will post here. This is basically old apparently forgotten history that we would be smart to hold onto, not just for blue coloring, but for all the dogs and men that make up the history of the Fell Terrier. The first page I opened to was page 49 ...few of the old Fell terriers were Black and Tan. Most were Wheaten, red or blue and tan... Page 54 The terriers bred by Jim Dalton were very classy, as the photograph of Turk (c.1900), his favorite terrier, show. Turk was a typey box-headed terrier, straight-front and blue and tan... Page 57 At that time red terriers, wheatens, blacks and blue-and-tan terriers were common in the Lake District,... Page 110 ... Breay mated to a blue fell terrier named Tink... also on page 110 you can see Frank Buck's Tiger is out of the blue fell terrier Tink. Tiger is the mother of Blitz. That makes blue Tink the great grandmother of Monty, and Tex. Page 201 Bedlington blood was introduced into This strain from time to time and many of the terriers produced by Robinson senior were blue. id a blue pup born yesterday from a chocolate coloured bitch and a red and white dog (1/2 patterdale 1/4 bull 1/4 plummer)x(3/4 plummer 1/4 bull)..i know the guy who bred the bull fairly well and he never saw it either(keeping same line since early eighties)..any ideas where it came from..The other pups are 2 brindles ,2 red nosed reds and a creamy blue weird coloured one Quote Link to post

Its not too big, just the hole is temporarily too small. If it has enough will it will get there in the end... 1 Quote Link to post
