TaylorF457 10
i have a cocker bitch who has turned 12 months and has come on well of retrieving a bushing however she doesnt like the water as she will go in to fetch sticks/the dummy but only where she can touch the floor but as soon as she can not feel the floor under her feet she turns around and will not go back in for a good 5/10 minutes and will do the same again. Any advice on how to get her comfortable in the water?? Quote Link to post

Philluk 181
Find a local lake and go often, Go where it's shallow and gets deeper but use it a lot, let her run around in the water and play just walk along the edge if she goes in fine, if she doesn't don't worry then after a week or so just throw some sticks a few feet in or where she stands, then as the warmer weather comes in you can send her further. Don't push it and loads of fuss when she brings it back. 1 Quote Link to post
