sandymere 8,263
The eye itself doesn’t look overly infected, not red etc, in the pic. Is the dog showing signs such as rubbing the eye, red eyeball when lid pulled back etc? If not it could well just be a bit of minor irritant like pollen rather than an infection, lot of it about at the mo and many dogs with mildly gunky eyes, which tends to settle on it’s own. One of mine had mildly gunky eyes last week but it settled after a few days without interference from me, there were no other symptoms.
Sirius 1,391
I have had it with my dog recently too , and it was just more than likely pollen, dust or a tiny bit of debris. It's always worse around the summer or when the dogs are working cereal fields in late summer. I often use boiled water and wash the eye out with a syringe squirted towards the tear duct as you would with a terrier after a dusty old dig, its surprising how much crap can come out. Just check its nothing more severe as you cant mess about with eyes when they have a thorn or deep scratch. .
B.P.R 2,798
no problems at all with her eye. all is as it should be apart from the gunge... but it seems to be clearing up with the eye drops.
