Will They Come Back ?

Recommended Posts

HI lads, i was up at one of my permissions today, the farmer is just after sewing wheat into the ground and i thought i would go up and try shoot some pigeons. I arrived at the permission and there was not one pigeon on the ground but there was a lot of crows. I was thinking about decoying the crows but i thought if i let off a shot that the crows would just bugger off somewhere else. So what im trying to say is, can you decoy crows like you can decoy pigeons ? will the crows keep coming in like the pigeons do or will they fly off and not come back after one shot ?

Cheers lads atb

No personal experience at this what so ever (If Only! I Despise crows with a heart felt vengeance!) But; I have seen a photo of an Eagle Owl decoy, sat on the ground. And it was almost buried in dead crows. Double barrelled 12 laying there too.

Clear indication being that there's some bloody hot sport to be had with a big owl deek. I'd love to try it myself. But, I couldn't hit a low flying barn with a shotgun :icon_redface:

I have decoyed crows with an air rifle too and they keep coming back in. I even took a shot at one and missed by millimeters it took off did a quick lap and came in again. Ive had crows coming in to pigeon decoys aswell they are just a bit more weary
