Born Hunter 17,763
TFM, I read that and although it's interesting it's sure as hell not proof that evolution is false.......... What the author implies as impossible is actually just statistically unlikely. But then statistics are funny old things......... Also, if I understood it correctly, It completely ignores other mechanisms of evolution and focusses entirely on natural selection. Modern science supports evolution. It has not been observed in sufficient detail to be absolutely proven due to the time scales and huge amounts of data involved, however equally their is no data to disprove it. Because of that creationists use it as 'proof' of their beliefs, which have absolutely NO observable evidence and no way of producing any.......... that's a real conveinient side to be arguing on! Up untill last year a little known particle called the Higgs Boson was an unobserved completely theorised particle that was only created to make the maths explain the physics known as the standard model....................... Turns out we were right about that and yet we had no experimental evidence to prove it, just a few pages of algebra!

04fox8 168
Aliens.... They have some sh*t on TV down here when I'm at work, and 1 'series?' that is on almost daily is a bunch of guys trying to explain their theories behind believing in how Aliens helped to form the earth etc. Sometimes, they can put together a 1/2 decent argument. Even if it's all been disproved somewhere else, it fills in a 1/2Hr now and again.
Born Hunter 17,763
Stargate, shite film really but interesting concept................ In all honesty though, I don't believe we would still be here and free if we had ever been visited by another form of intelligent life.

Paid 935
I'm swayed to the idea that aliens had some involvement in our evolution and perhaps started our belief in "gods" It just makes some sense to me, no evidence, but an interest in cave art and mythology and i smoked too much in my youth. Malt 379
God is just a set of rules with which to live your life by. Evolution cannot explain Homo Erectus. In truth there is no real reason for Homo Sapiens to be on this planet. Unlike any other animal on this planet they do not have a niché that they fit into in any natural way. TC No other animal has such a detrimental effect on everything else on this planetThat does my nut in, certain groups of people would have us living back in the Stone Age, and for what? Irrespective of what we do this planet is going to be swallowed up by an expanding sun one day and will be gone no matter how many 4x4's are on the roads, etc.. There used to be a real feeling that we should expand and move off the planet, now they'd saying we wouldn't do that because it will 'spoil' anywhere we might go to. Take Mars for example. Who exactly would we spoil it for if we moved there and started colonising it? It does my head in when people start piping up about how much better the world would be without us. If not for us what is capable of truly appreciating the world and the universe around us? What is capable of learning and growing as a species at the same level? To halt progress in the futile attempt of making sure things stay the same would be a crime against evolution, for it was nature that made us capable of what we are, and made us capable of so much more.. Things will never stay the same no matter how much we try to keep it that way. Not sure if there is a religious counterpart, but the second law or thermodynamics proves that somewhere, I'm sure!
