White Pups From Black Parents

Dev, if one of the parents is a bull cross then you didn't breed from two black lines, just two black parents. A brindle could have cropped up just as easily.

There are a few lines of black terriers that the odd white one crops up. Sealyham, russell or bull blood added way back is usually the reason.

One of the best lines of fell terrier I know throws a lot of white on to their black terriers due to an outcross made many years ago to a jack russell from the well known terrierman Terry Duggan.

Neil, I didn't say I bred from two black lines, I just said I produced a my from my blacks.

I know it happens but it is a bit unusual.

im sure i read somewhere that west high land whites and scottish terriers were from the same gene pool , and the whites were destroyed for years as litter waste, then some one gave en a chance and they became a seperate breed

Just cant see why whites would be either culled or automatically viewed as no good, ie all the black/coloured pups been taken before the white ones, surely if they are bred right from known workers, then colour means f**k all, or is it because people either have kennel blindness or dont want to be known to have a Russell in their kennels.

Same parents, and ancestory of workers, if they(parents, g parents etc)are up to a standard youre expecting and you know the person who breeds the litter then surely you can trust their decision and take ANY pup, even if the white is the last in the litter would you turn it down knowing that the parents, g parents etc are top class workers.

you're right of course-they'll have the same chance of making it as the black pups in the litter

and a much higher chance of making it than proper russells, they're shit

Just had a litter of 5, bred my pat x bull to my pat bitch. 3 dogs 2 bithches and 2 dogs died all black ao black and white and 1 brown and white bitch, must be from the bull or other breeds like use say. Sad only 3 survived wanted more dogs but on the plus if they turn out any good can keep the lines going

Sorry mate! i did'nt know you was coloured visioned,dug over a few russels that have put alot of other terriers to shame,week in, week out,over the years,you get shit in all breeds of terriers,talking to two boys two weeks ago ,and they said they had put down 9 terriers last season which failed,no white terriers there mate?they ended up depending on one

i am a tradtionalist at heart, so give me a good old fashioned russell or pitbull x norfolk any day.

the season will soon be around and you can show me Ben and Barney going.

try 1/8 he never threw any coloured ones,the lakeland had been bred out of the line, by the time his old man was used on a bitch
