Bought Myself A Few Pigeons

Their not strays stig their raspberry ripples off a mate of mine. The nearest ones wing is on the mend from a hawk wound and the others broken.

:thumbs: thought they`d just dropped in ---one of my top racers was a strag a mealy cock I kept sending him with my on training tosses gave mine 5 mins to clear then chucked him out first back every time :D -- I reported it the owner said keep it -- few weeks later 3rd club lerwick 3rd club fraserburgh 1st club and topped fed thurso ...and won 4 shows that winter

 

and that was one of your best :laugh::laugh: :laugh:

 

when I was 12 he was :D won nantes the following season .......

 

And it was timed into one of these

One bit of advice I'll give you which I've got off others is take that bowl of food out and feed them once a day. You want them piling into the food dish when you call them, either a whistle or shakin

yeah gnipper mate they will work an thieve anything that resembles a pigeon, even when flown in a flock pouters will peel off and go hunting if they spy a pigeon, to get the most out of the sport you

got myself 4 new pigeons 2 limerick tumblers and 2 Birmingham rollers well chuffed we them as its the first time i have kept them

I thought racers weren't meant to settle at new lofts? Any idea how to teach them to roll if I can get them flying out? ;)

1 2 3 UP ! :laugh: on tick aswell I bought it off an old boy archie stubbs I had to pay him 50p a week on marking up nights -- think it cost me 8 quid

the old toulets don't fetch anything these days few on ebay now...got a few in my loft one of thems from an old fella jim henstock that used to be in my club I saw it in an auction with a nice brass plaque on it so I bought it .. got 2 of my grandads and one that I got off a car boot belonged to a mr jock orr ...i think I've still got the thimble and rubber somewhere from a nantes winner ...

my first clock was a benzing.them with the microscopic thimbles lol, you had to concentrate when you were trying to get a rubber in there lol, especially if it was an early bird lol like trying to thread a needle lol

set me thinking ----when old jim henstock died I used to go round clean the loft out and feed them one day I went round and all the birds where in baskets and cardboard boxes his mrs said take the fecking things they`ve been the bain of my life for 50 year nowt but shit machines in one end out the other :D I bought the loft off her for 25quid ... I trained them hard the best got there corn the other pushed up roses ,,had one that won a few bits called him old jim ..

old boy down the village just passed away --loft pigeons the lot soon be up for sale --his son said to me at the funeral I`ll let you know ----I`m really tempted but sats our busy day with auction.. kit of rollers might suit me better :hmm: hows your lot doing?---
