walshie 2,804
Just goes to show just because it's in your garden, doesn't make it safe. If I've any doubt over the species of mushroom I leave it.

dogmad riley 1,344
There are lots of good tasting wild mushrooms which I can't find in shops so I forage for them while having a mooch with the dogs, but if I am ever in doubt I leave them. There are plenty of signs to tell the difference between toxic and non toxic. Best going with someone who has a vast knowledge of them. Sad news that.

keepitcovert 842
Death caps are easily identifiable, programmes like river cottage ect, tend to simplify foraging as a source of food but without pointing out the dangers, and the potentially lethal species that grow in this country.
