kruby01 114
I was just wondering If anyone can recommend a good cheap fixed blade hunting knife roughly £20? I have my trusty whitby locking knife but its all scratched after use and not holding an edge as it used to plus the guthook is now useless. I want to go for a fixed blade and sheath this time but not an expensive one Cheers Billy
Huan72 687
For fixed blades I use scuba/spearfishing knives with the skeleton handles. I just put vetwrap around the handle for grip. They are lightweight, stainless, hold a good edge if you get the right one and come with sheaths in rubber or plastic with a one handed release system. I think they are great so maybe something to consider.

Hot Meat 3,109
I think you will need to spend a lot of money to get better than a clipper mora
kruby01 114
I have just asked about the clippers as I have seen them in other colours and I dont really want the orange sheath to walk around the field Id rather the green. Colour wont put me off Id just like to see if green is available

Rake aboot 4,936
Mora clipper in CARBON steel Takes more looking after but the edge is way better than the stainless. £10 from Hienne ,,or from anywhere really . For a cheap fixed blade, they cannot be beaten

ratattack 111
I like the old timer range of knives, non slip handles and hold a good edge! Not too pricey either.

The sheath has a one handed spring release system and the rubber straps that come with it could be replaced with webbing straps if you prefer. I put vetwrap around the handle for grip. To be honest the edge will be not a touch on that Mora blade and now I have been educated I will be getting a Mora soon Having said that I will still always have the divers skeleton type as well, I find them practical, secure and a tough as old boots, "just in case" type outdoors accessary. Defo very similar, frost high carbon etc and they are good for £10 and was even better at 4 for £20 back then, good knives
