Ideation 8,216
First off, this isn't a dig, it's a question. And obviously talking of pre-ban / Ireland. I hear a lot of lads saying that when bringing on their coursing pups, they tried/ try to give them a few runs over summer on easy hares etc. Every coursing man, seems to have young dogs to bring on every year for the next season. So is this common practice? Does it not go against what they preach, in terms of giving the hare fair respect? And also, can it not potentially f**k up the dog running on hard ground in the heat after sally? 8 Quote Link to post

Carraghs Gem 1,675
Mine had only a few rabbits last season, wont run him on hare (unless 1 pops up unexpected while out walking) until late august at the earliest... Only thing i will deliberately run him on will be the lure until then Quote Link to post
baw 4,360
One things for sure, those pups entering the puppy competitions in October, will be behind a hare or 2 this summer Quote Link to post
Paid 935
I have been putting my youngen on a few rabbits, and will continue too, not hammering them, only every couple of weeks or so when the weather suits, for a couple of runs. To me, it is important for the bitch to know what she is for, quite early on. 2 Quote Link to post
