Sirius 1,391
I had a friend drop round with a pet ferrets the other evening, as they were worried about ticks on there ferret which they had just got, and didn't know how to remove them. They are new to ferret keeping and rightly were asking for help.Anyhow, I was amazed to pick well over 30+ ticks of the two ferrets, with lots more tiny ones I just could get off at they were too small. They were in between toes, round the eyes, ears, you name it. I treated the ferret with a spot on and told them to completely clean the ferrets living quarters. I cant say I have seen anything quite like it before!!! Quote Link to post
Stretch177 39
I had one of my hobs escape from my hutch last year, he was missing for about 4 days. Anyway I received a call from the RSPCA saying they had been given a ferret and wanted to know if it was mine. I went up to see him and he was filthy, but he was definitely mine. Anyway I get home and have a look over him and the muck and filth on him, turned out to be 137 ticks!!!!!. Took me 2 days to get rid of them all, absolute nightmare. Treated him with frontline, but had too use ivomec that I got from a mate as the frontline wasn't having an affect, thank god for the tick remover as well Quote Link to post
