Yip Hillman Avenger. cost me £50, it was originally orange, you might be able to see this in the back windows, we painted it black, and a week later green, believe it or not, dark green hides better than balck, hand painted with a paint called re-paint, decent brushing paint, record numer of getting stopped, 10 times in one month, used to keep the HORT 1 forms off the feds on the walls of the dog sheds.. Must admit I liked the Vauxhall Viva`s too, could get 5 dogs in the boot of these

I was 16 and leaving school to take up ferreting .

Lived in Northampton, hackleton village, and had great craic, chased off certain places ect , but all fun and the local bobby would know us as wanabe poachers ect

Hillman avenger low sump get them bunnys in the middle of both wheels and clean kills every time best we had was 14 on the way out dogging.

They dont make cars like them no more

Yer that`ll be right, have a look at gnippers answer, that would be more like it...Got a base ball bat over the side of my face at Wooler one night....Pleased when the feds turned up on the scene, thought the keepers were going kill and bury us that night. You had to make sure you didnt get caught by keepers..

One of me mates got caught lamping, dead now poor soul, got filled in, and they kept his dog, said they would kill it if he didnt fetch them 10 bags of coal..Another time 3 farmers were going to shoot my dogs...Police turned up and did us for not having dog licences..next harvest time someone put steel road pins that had been painted yellow in that farmers corn field..dont think the combined liked the taste of them, must have offended someone
