9 Days And Three Sessions With The Aa Prosport

Hy guys,so newbie to rifles,and having bought a prosport .177 here's how were getting on with it,the rifle is almost new albeit secondhand, fitted with a nikko sterling 4-12x50 AO IR mountmaster,had a couple two hour sessions and starting to really enjoy the rifle, we try and use the marksmanship principles and with around 400 pellets through it we are improving,loving the fact it requires more shooter input than the Daystate huntsman classic rifle i shot some 6 months ago(thanks andy).so zero eventually set at 25 metres here's a group of around 8-12 shots,slightly high and to the right but the group can be covered by a five pence piece,the other three shots were corrected to land in the bull,ok i know most of you guys can group under a 5p at greater distances but we are new shooters,

At the end of the session and with no wind we pushed the target board out to a measure forty meters and i was knocking 45mm bottle tops off nearly every shot, this left me buzzing wanting more,

Monday the 6 may

Went to woodend farm complex Huthwaite,and my best shot was the HFT rat at 50 metres,took a few shots to find my mil dot holdover but iam well chuffed,

The very best thing though is there were three other blokes there with differant rifle style's one co2,one pcp,one cheapish underlever (his words not mine),the guy with the pcp his mag kept jamming,the co2 rifle was heavy on 12g caplets and the underlever guy seemed reasonably happy but seemed to make excuse's regarding his gun,

Me, well the prosport just did its thing time after time,its seemed to be the hardest hitting to,Now iam not a snob,i know this becouse i have a credit card bill for the prosport,do i regret buying it Noooooooooooooooooooo

and the best bit is its only going to get better for us

That's awesome mate, the prosport really is a force to be reckoned with accuracy wise! I still think its probably the best springer out there for looks and accuracy! So jealous I don't own one!

Thanks guys to be totally honest ive cherry picked the best of my shooting to tell you about,i spent an hour and three quarters on the second session with only average results,so stripped back to basics and shot amazingly for the last 15 mins (marksman principles)

Mawders,read your post regarding your prosport woes, i feel for you mate, mine had a squeaky cocking lever but only when flicking out from the stock and not under tension,a quick spray with mr sheen fixed it,i am worried though becouse it is from the simillar build time,

 

skot dont know about natural mate, i have hammered plenty of lead down range,iam sure to hit something

The thing iam most impressed aside the quality and finish is its character,its like a living animal,wake it up by cocking the lever, feed it a pellet,show it the target,release the trigger and the animal completes the cycle for you, usually with precision if ive done my bit

Were getting a pcp for my lad in a couple of months and all the stuff it needs to make work and i know i'll will enjoy using it aswell,but i hope i can match it with my prosport (game on)

Mate, you might be ok, although I purchased mine beginning of feb it was in fact made in nov 2012 but that doesn't get round why my second one then did the same thing. Hmmmm strange! I think you either get a good one or a bad one and it seemed i got the Friday afternoon jobs from air arms.

She's doing very well mate. Not been out with it as much as I would have like due to work and other commitments but from what I have seen so far its something very special.
