SportingShooter 0
May sound like a daft question, but how often is it cleaned? A good gunsmith friend of mine always told me never to leave oil in a semi-auto because it will eventually just clog everything, so if there is oil in there, then clean it and make sure its completely dry. finder 6
i clean it after nearly every outing ,so say once a week, but will propably strip it right back and give it a good going over .see if that helps, thanks Quote Link to post
paulus 26
Use a solvent to remove any oil and crap, then use a very light oil like sewing machine oil but be very sparing with it Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I've taken to using carburettor cleaner in most of my guns to get rid of carbon build ups and plastic. Works a treat. Quote Link to post
remi700 99
Yep sounds like to much oil! Any grease on the internals might slow up the action. Clean it all down with cellulose thinners and apply abit of graphite powder to the moving parts. Great stuff. completely dry lubrication, nothing sticks to it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/C-K-Graphite-Powder-Lock-Lubricant-Cylinder-Car-Padlock-K30050-50g-/130891293035?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e79baa16b If you want to go down the road of a new auto or second hand you wont beat fabarm. PLEDGEY 495
I bought a Winchester SX3 in July last year. I've put about 400 cartridges through it so far and have never cleaned it. I never clean my Bakial Hush power 410, CZ 452 .22LR or my AirArms S410 22 air rifle. I never clean any thing apart from the HMR. I use carb out, wipe out patch out and accelerator on my CZ 452 HMR but only when the groups start to get too big. I spray and wipe all the guns down with Napier oil, the stuff with the VP90 in it. I read what other people do and think am i being a lazy so and so, but then, if it works why bother cleaning it?. Quote Link to post
