Help Needed Uploading Profile Pic

Hi everyone, could any of you give my some pointers on uploading a profile pic. I've tried but computer says its to big 116kb, any advice greatly recieced, atb Nick

Sometimes it's surprising just how big an image is and unless you've got software such as Adobe Photoshop in which you can both re-size an image and reduce the density of the pixels (therefore reducing the size of the file), the only other option is to go online to do it.

 

There are plenty of free sites that will do it for you but there is also the chance that they are baddies and will send back more than just the .jpg.

 

Here is a link to one such site. I have no knowledge of it or the people who run it. It claims to do what you want (provided your image is a .jpg format). However, I take no responsibility for what happens to your computer should you use it.

If you are running windows you may already have a program to change the image size.

Click start - all programs - accessories – paint

This runs the paint program. Click the icon on the menu bar to open the dropdown options, click open and find the image you want to use, once it is open on view click the properties in the same dropdown menu you used to find the open image, this will open a box to view the image properties, adjust to suit, click OK and then save with a different name to the original image.
