morton 5,368
hes 4 years old and i was hoping to use him for rabbits and working alongside ferrets At 4 years old id be cautious with the mutt,id be looking for any bad traits the dogs become accustomed to,go through the basics with the dog and see where it needs a little education.Spend the summer bonding, reinforcing any needed training, getting its fitness levels to a desired level, testing it on the odd run and then take it from there. 2 Quote Link to post
*The*Field*Marshall* 674
Yes, I'd say similar to above. . Spend lots of 1-1 time with it, keep it on a lead until your confident, get to know its basic temperament, obedience, behaviour around other animals. . Take it from there. All the best, keep us posted on your progress. Quote Link to post

Neoleaver 55
Has it worked before....to your knowledge? or been a pet.??, Id be extra careful around ferrets till you know. If it hasnt been socialized with em early on you cant blame the dog for not knowing which wee furry critter to jaw on and which to leave alone....all the ingredients for a bad day out there bud.
