slugbuster 4
Hi I'm 30 in just over a year and want to apply for a fac for my 30th. My question is what caliber is a good all rounder for everything from rabbits to foxes. I realise this is probably the same as asking what caliber air rifle is best but the choices seem vast. Thanks in advance Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Depends on the land & your experience & what you are going to be shooting more of fox or rabbit For mainly rabbits.. You wont be dissapointed with a 22LR, great little rifles and ammo is cheap but widely accepted (by many police forces) as NOT suitable for foxes For rabbits and the odd fox.. Your best chance is probably a 17hmr, great for rabbits and many forces seem to accept fox with it, I think the ammo for them is a little bit pricey at the minute though. If your going to be shooting more foxes than rabbits it would be better to get a more capable caliber like a 22 hornet or a 22-250 ATB Adam Edited May 5, 2013 by AR177 Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
In all honesty to make things easier for you, I would be looking at two rifles, a .22LR and a .223 purely because then you have everything covered from Rats to Roe (in Scotland) Quote Link to post
The one 8,513
Just to be different a 22 LR and a 243 nice sized rifle for most things Quote Link to post
