theworkingferret 56 Posted May 5, 2013 Report Share Posted May 5, 2013 right i have a jill and for the last 3 days its been of its food not drinking and weak at the back legs also the base of its tail looks like it is loseing fur and it has lost lots of weight .ive been syringe feeding it food and water ive also give it dioralyte ive phoned the vets and all they said was they need to see it and are looking £100 for a call out and consultation which is a joke what could be wrong and is there any thing i can do or does it sound like a goner Quote Link to post

bobby blackheart 1,209 Posted May 5, 2013 Report Share Posted May 5, 2013 had a problem like that few weeks back-vet told me to syringe food/water etc-after 1 day it was kinda to put her out of her misery after a certain point they dont recover-noticed the ferret was off food on friday looking unwell-saturday vets-1 day trying to feed/keep it alive-wife asks me to end its suffering on the sunday morning it was start/stopping breathing- keep trying mate-bring it in the house and keep it warm atb Quote Link to post

theworkingferret 56 Posted May 6, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 6, 2013 the ferret is only a year old ive been syringeing baby food and water an,dioralyte into it i boiled up some chicken tonight and it was getting tucked in to it which is the first its ate by itself in 3days but its stil abit weak at the back end the only change theres been is that it was put in with 3 of my other jills as it was in with its brother and i didnt want it getting mated with him i will keep doing what ive been doing and see how she gos if i think its suffering i will do the right thing thanks for the reply lads if u can think of any thing else let me no Quote Link to post
