one thing for sure the lads on the video are better stockmen than most of the clowns on here they depend on what they catch and use every bit of it unlike tossing it in ditches and talking shite on we

Love the way that some of you know everything about a breed of dogs from 1 youtube vid.

i dont know anyone who enjoys tossing a hare in a ditch its the crazy laws that force us to leave game not worth the hassle of taking it home most times

Boyo do you think the coursing dogs of this country need anymore injection of saluki because there already doing the job very well, surely there is enough good coursing stock in this country now?

To be perfectly honest a lot of the saluki blood being injected now is not worth a light new blood needs to be introduced if you keep diluting something it eventually looses its primary purpose

I dont think the uk coursing dogs need any new saluki blood introduced at all, they are doing the job just fine and there is are enough of them about to breed without any inbreeding problems.

its not in breeding its the quality of the stock being used a lot of the salukis used are just used as a means to an end in lining a bitch or brooding a litter why are in general lurcher pups being sold for more than a pure saluki thats speaks for itself I think

The old time lads thought the same before the introductionof saluki blood , there were some top class dog without saluki blood but they were very few and far between , There are plenty of adequate working dogs around now but no one can argue that they were not improved by the infusion of saluki blood It is also felt that infusion of quality blood again can take it to the next level you should always strive for improvement. I dont breed litters here Idont stud out my dog although I have been asked to use my bitches and dog lots of times. If I thought it would be beneficial to a litter some time in the future I would but not just to bang out litters for dollars

yep the puppy pedlers saturated the market , and had no foresight it was ..just bang out the pups for a grand a time , profit was allways the motive ;)

What I found interesting was the diversity between two dogs of the same breed ... You had one that was mouthing the hare and didn't want to grab hold of it then another that hung on tight to a fox whilst an eagle hit it at full force ... Just shows that all breeds have their hard and soft types ............

its all down to temprement this is where you will find marked differences in salukis from show stock and line bred working stock an example my dog will take a mouthful of a dog or bitch if they look at him lol his line are all the same and yet others are placid
