desertbred 5,490
Boyo do you think the coursing dogs of this country need anymore injection of saluki because there already doing the job very well, surely there is enough good coursing stock in this country now? To be perfectly honest a lot of the saluki blood being injected now is not worth a light new blood needs to be introduced if you keep diluting something it eventually looses its primary purpose Quote Link to post

boyo 1,398
most of the top coursing lines in this country are very tightly bred and close lines, any influx of genuine working saluki breeding from outside the uk has to be of benefit imo . Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,324
the first saluki's where laughed at by most lurcher men. i personally enjoyed the vid. cheers Quote Link to post

C Hall 552
Desertbred, the way I look at it is our coursing dogs do there job very well and if its not broke why fix it Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
The old time lads thought the same before the introductionof saluki blood , there were some top class dog without saluki blood but they were very few and far between , There are plenty of adequate working dogs around now but no one can argue that they were not improved by the infusion of saluki blood It is also felt that infusion of quality blood again can take it to the next level you should always strive for improvement. I dont breed litters here Idont stud out my dog although I have been asked to use my bitches and dog lots of times. If I thought it would be beneficial to a litter some time in the future I would but not just to bang out litters for dollars 4 Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
What I found interesting was the diversity between two dogs of the same breed ... You had one that was mouthing the hare and didn't want to grab hold of it then another that hung on tight to a fox whilst an eagle hit it at full force ... Just shows that all breeds have their hard and soft types ............ Quote Link to post
