jeemes 4,507
Growth plates are not set until at least 15 months. Until that time no dog should be galloping other than play. Running dogs often carry injuries that are not outwardly obvious but stop them doing there best. This can be caused by early stress on joints. Its a good idea to take a pup to a bone man for examination for injury before any serious running begins. Edited May 5, 2013 by jeemes 2 Quote Link to post

I will wager that 99% of the top coursing dogs past and present wernt waited with until 15 month before they were galloped, most would have had plenty of game put infront of them by then and the gooduns showing great potential by this age, good rearing, genetics and a competent dog man is the remedy 5 Quote Link to post
