Phil Lloyd 10,738
It was nice to hook up yesterday and have a quiet walk out,..it has been a year or so, since me and Sock's stood over a warren together..I don't venture into his area of the South much, as most of my work keeps me here in Hampshire and West Sussex,.but it was nice to get out of the dark woods and back into the bright sunlight... It was also rewarding to see Tilly in action...most enjoyable in fact.. With all new pups,.especially those that are destined to follow, the net and ferret game,..it is imperative that they have an early education, in a calm and collected schoolyard, with tutors, that are also of that persuasion... Noisy, jumpy,..can't stay still feckers,.(human and canine)are a bad influence and should be avoided at all costs.. Anyway,..a nice morning out,..and a chance to see a top quality sapling, that has, in my opinion,..a fabulous future ahead of it. The pup is a big un,..a fast'un,. and has a head, choc-full of thinkers,....and will surely go on to become a true,..all rounder... Such a creature would be wasted on me,...I do know that,.but,..having been there myself,..and owned a similar type of critter in the past,..I can see that the future is definitely bright....... Probably, by the time we next meet again,.young Tilly, will be well on the way to becoming the animal that Sock's desires,...and as a fellow hunter, albeit, now in my dotage,..I genuinely wish him good luck,.. and good fortune... Kind regards, CHALKWARREN.. Edited May 4, 2013 by CHALKWARREN 8 Quote Link to post

inan 841
I had a job on today that I thought would be ideal for Tilly ... At 7 months I decided that it was time to give her a full days ferreting to see how she coped ... Now anybody that has read any of my posts about Tilly will know that my biggest challenge has not been getting her going but steadying her up ... So with that in mind and wanting to try her without my older dog Tegan's influence I wanted to see what she would be like with another dog around ... A quick phone call to my old mate chalkwarren and he agreed to come along with his very experienced and excellent ferreting dog dusty ... Well there was a fair bit of cover up a distraction with young bullocks and the weather was very hot but I was very happy with the way Tilly performed ... Her marking was spot on and she was steady and calm the whole day ... The calming influence of dusty really helped me evaluate Tilly's performance ... A big thank you to chalkwarren and dusty ......... THE VALLEY TO BE FERRETED ............... A FEW OF THE WARRENS NETTED UP ......... LET'S GET STARTED GIRLS ........ THERE IS A RABBIT IN HERE SOMEWHERE ....... HERE IT IS ........ COME TO MAMMY ....... A SQUEEKER BOLTS AND THE OLD PRO BEATS THE YOUNG PRETENDER ...... SHE MADE SURE THIS ONE WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE ....... f*****g COWS ......... SORT THEM OUT DUSTY ............ GET ON TILLY ...... BEUATY AND THE BEAST ............. SOME RANDOM PICS ............ Good stuff and excellent pics Socks, looks like you've got a looker, and a doer rolled into one Quote Link to post

Lloyd90 509
How's she bred pal ? Looks an absolute cracker ... I was thinking of a Beddy/grey for first lurcher when I get my own place but looking at her is making me wonder. Would you think is best for the Welsh valleys / sand dunes area's ? Quote Link to post
