Heres a few more photos i have taken in the past week or so,

Fly Fern and Bram on the beach with Rew and his dad, they did some retreiving with bram and the pups from the water, all enjoyed em selves and me and Rew took bram out for a quick shine, and had 2 out of 3 nice bunnies.

I took Storm out for a walk today and took a few more snaps, but there was squirrels everywhere and i had to stick him on the lead as he was inches away from catching them on more then one occation, only young ens but i dont want him on owt that bites back till heis good on the rabbits, he then stormed :feck: across the field, the fastest i have seen him run and it impressed me only to be trying his chance at catching crows lol. i then took him to do abit of retrieving up a steep hill and he is retrieving straight to hand. he is also doing well with blind stay and alot better with his recall, he is a total different dog when on his own, he will walk off lead at the side of me and if he strays of it only takes a sharp "get back" and he is back with me. Im hoping to do abit more jumping with him soon and get that up to scratch but all looks very promising for the future,

and i have started walking him everyday for 3+ hours this aint to much for him is it as he is now 6month old?

hope you all enjoy the pics

Cheers

Fantastic pics there, keep em comin.

Personally I would say that three hours a say is not needed. He is still really a pup and shouldn't be expected to do much for another six months or so.

Leet his frame develop naturally, plenty of play etc etc then when he is older you can push him a bit. You will notice that he will still be growing upwards/ when that stops he will bulk out muscle wise then you can start conditioning.

This is only my thoughts (and each dog is different) Storm will be with you for a long so be patient and enjoy his puppyhood.

Either way it certainly is good to see you are putting the work in with thetraining, I think you are going to have a cracker there :toast: when he's mature and got some experience under his belt.

Happy Hunting

:clapper: Really great photos: well done on the training too.

I agree with Sorely: at 6 months he is still very much a pup: half an hour morning and night or an hour as long as he isn't busting a gut galloping about flat out all that time. How about trying some slower games with him like finding the hidden dummy in cover?

I'd lay off the jumping too until his joints are mature: I know lurchers are lighter built than GSDs but the police wouldn't even think of doing any jumping with a dog until its over a year old: 2 foot high maximum at the moment and not too much: there's one hell of a lot of pressure on their front legs, shoulders and wrists when they land over a fence, gate whatever.

Patience! I know that's dificult when you're both young and keen LOL :D

thanks for the replies

with the walking its all taken at a slow pace and, with in that time frame i am doing the training, walking at heel, blind stay retrieving etc, and he always seems to have energy to piss about when we get in lol. but i take on all of the sound advice and thank you for you views :victory:

cheers lads, hope to get some good action shots with in the next couple of seasons.

cheers
