patterdalejoel 669
go to builders merchants and ask them to cut you some clear perspex to size, then drill small homes in each corner and zip tie it on. it is hardy and doesnt magnify the heat. i did it for mesh on a chicken shed and it works very well. or even better screw it on to the wood of the door. ferrets88 5
What about a bit of Tarpaulin fixed on the roof hanging down so you can roll it up as and when you want to put it down, and just secure with a line and bit of wood at the bottom its what works for me and is cheaper than perspex and wont go brittle with the weather. brucemyster 75
My hutch and court are all roofed with felt and I use a couple of cheap tarps in the summer as shades stretched out from the top and then roll them down at night if a frost is forecast. In the winter I do the same , stretch them out in the morning if rain is forecast, it's a cheap but effect way to keep them dry, only cost a couple of quid each at the market. Perspex would look the dogs but a tad expensive for my wallet as is the chicken coup cover, i'd keep an eye open at bootfairs for a cheap pushchair plastic cover and re-model it, but then I'm a cheapskate Quote Link to post

The one 8,474
Think you could rig up something better for £18 ,but if you have enough overhang on the hutch roof you dont need a cover Quote Link to post

Where you getting the hutch CJ. I would design the hutch with the roof and sides extended so you don't need to bother with covering the cage fronts. Quote Link to post
