Finally Allowed A Ferret Set Up

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

After lengthy discussions with my wife she has finally agreed for me to get some kits.

You will normally find me posting in the lurcher or terrier section as I am also awaiting the construction of a concrete base and outside kennels for housing the dogs, this has now been delayed due to the fella doing the work having to much on till the end or late summer. I don't mind though as he is family (and doing the work for pretty much cost).

Anyway, I did a little ferreting back in the 90s and always wanted to get back in to it but have just never really managed to get around to it. I am all good to go read a couple of books as a refresher, prepared the space, roped in the kids to get involved and actively looking out for all the bits and bobs such as hutch/court and nets etc.

What I am really interested in is finding the livestock itself, does anyone know of any quality working litters due shortly in the Kent area? I have put out the message amongst my buddies but I am so far drawing a blank!

Also, as its been a few years all positive advice and pointers will be gladly received.

Thanks for reading

Pat

Even if we don't take decent sized bags I just want to get the kids off of the computer and tv, this should be exciting enough for them I reckon.

Sorry mate, didn't see the bit highlighted in red. I was being a bit of a joker really with the bit about the wife. Although she didn't really mind I needed her to help me make the space to put them in and clear out some old bits from the shed, I think you get my meaning.

Of course not mate, I misread something and got on my high horse. It was completely my fault, long day and all that. You are right about the last word though BPR!

Can anyone point me in the direction of where they buy their ferret housing from as some of the bits I have found on the internet don't look man enough for the job.

I have had the kids badgering me all morning so any help is appreciated.
