redpat1 225
Hi Guys After lengthy discussions with my wife she has finally agreed for me to get some kits. You will normally find me posting in the lurcher or terrier section as I am also awaiting the construction of a concrete base and outside kennels for housing the dogs, this has now been delayed due to the fella doing the work having to much on till the end or late summer. I don't mind though as he is family (and doing the work for pretty much cost). Anyway, I did a little ferreting back in the 90s and always wanted to get back in to it but have just never really managed to get around to it. I am all good to go read a couple of books as a refresher, prepared the space, roped in the kids to get involved and actively looking out for all the bits and bobs such as hutch/court and nets etc. What I am really interested in is finding the livestock itself, does anyone know of any quality working litters due shortly in the Kent area? I have put out the message amongst my buddies but I am so far drawing a blank! Also, as its been a few years all positive advice and pointers will be gladly received. Thanks for reading Pat Quote Link to post

redpat1 225
ID GET YOUR KIDS TO HANDLE THE KITS,TAMES THEM UP NICELY.GOOD LUCK WHEN YOU GET THEM That was the plan really in getting the kids involved. I am going to take them with me as I already have a couple of permissions which come the new season should be pretty well stocked up. lol. Even if we don't take decent sized bags I just want to get the kids off of the computer and tv, this should be exciting enough for them I reckon. 2 Quote Link to post

redpat1 225
Sorry mate, didn't see the bit highlighted in red. I was being a bit of a joker really with the bit about the wife. Although she didn't really mind I needed her to help me make the space to put them in and clear out some old bits from the shed, I think you get my meaning. Quote Link to post

GreyRake 108
Some ideas for you - Picture of the indoor cage i built. For it to be outside you want less mesh and more wood to keep the weather out. I got the wood and mesh from B&Q (Bit over priced tbh) Ideas i like for outside.... Chicken coops are cheap and look good, there's various sizes on eBay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LARGE-DELUXE-CHICKEN-COOP-HEN-POULTRY-ARK-HOUSE-HUTCH-/121105040916?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item1c326c4614 If you were worried about the weather then some tarp over the side-top would help, or - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WIND-RAIN-COVER-FOR-047-CHICKEN-HUTCH-RABBIT-HOUSE-COOP-047C-/261207854533?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item3cd1338dc5 Other smaller ideas - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4FT-ANCONA-LARGE-RABBIT-HUTCH-WITH-RUN-GUINEA-PIG-AND-FERRET-WOODEN-PET-HOUSE-/160982927686?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item257b548946 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RABBIT-GUINEA-PIG-HUTCH-HOUSE-FERRET-ANIMAL-CAGE-PEN-BUILT-IN-RUN-NEW-/330744371348?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item4d01e69894 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3FT-RABBIT-HUTCH-GUINEA-PIG-RUN-DELUXE-PET-HUTCHES-FERRET-CAGE-PETS-HOUSE-/280979927603?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&var=&hash=item416bb57233 Edited May 4, 2013 by GreyRake Quote Link to post
