low plains drifter 10,729
Do both parents work??? What do they excel on? Yes they both work, they are all rounders. Good luck with them. How come they won't make big land pups? I thought tazi were coursing dogs? Do they have good noses on them? Tazi are more of a hunting dogs, my bitch is more more of a mountain type than open steppe type so she is more at home on rough ground than flat open fields. I'm going to be honest here as I really don't want to waste anyones time (including my own), I am really looking for people that already know what Tazi and saluki's are about, rather than trying to 'sell' them to people who don't know anything about them. I'm really sorry if I upset anyone but these are not just going to go anyone with enough cash. What do you mean cash I thought you were trying to give them away, accidental mating what kind of amateur are you,by the way what is a Tazi some sort of arabian public transport Quote Link to post
bigears 205
mother and son is not the best interbred lining there is, it will amplify all the good bits and all the bad bits you just have to hope it goes with the good, hope they turn out ok for you Quote Link to post
Mixed Bag 603
cant see many people wanting to part with money for that sort of mating but all the best hope they do well Quote Link to post

Saluqihounds 150
I'm well aware of the in's and outs of inbreeding, MotherXSon or FatherXdaughter is better than a brother sister mating at least there is some genetic diversity with her son being a total out cross. In saying that some great coursing salukis have been produced from brotherXsister matings and have been further line bred with no problems. For the record you would not find a stronger healthy dog than the bitch, Kazakhstan ain't exactly a forgiving place, it's an incredibly harsh environment anything with weakness dies pretty quickly. I'd go as far as to say 90% of lurchers here would last a week out there. Quote Link to post

low plains drifter 10,729
I was considering a father / daughter mating,in the hope that a particular running style could be maintained,as there was no stud dog of this breeding that I could find, the owner of the bitch was'nt too keen so I did'nt push it,I do remember an accidental mating of brother and sister deerhounds, the pups turned out well both as workers and show dogs,I hope your pups come good for you atb Quote Link to post
