deanothehunter 34
Thought I would cammo up my spare scope today, its only a basic Hawke Nite Eye IR 3-10 x 44 but I like it and find these scopes all very good, reasonably priced and very clear optics. Anyway I found a roll of realtree vinyl cammo tape I forgot I had I love this stuff.... and thought I have a job for that, I sat for 3 hours cutting and crafting each individual piece to fit where I wanted it, but when I got to the tapered front end I had a nightmare trying to get it to fit as this vinyl is great peels off leaving underneath perfectly clean with no mess like the material type does, and it protects from knocks and bumps etc, but unlike the fabric type this does'nt wrap around shapes without getting in rucking up at the edges but after trying several pieces of paper as template I finally figured out to do this taper you have to cut a sort of half moon shape which looks like it'll never fit but once wrapped round it forms a cone shape and goes into place quite well, with lots of patience that is. Its not the best cammo'd scope I ever saw but its definately not the worst, Cheers, Deano. Edited May 1, 2013 by deanothehunter Quote Link to post

deanothehunter 34
Cheers everyone, i like this type of tape as the fabric one leaves a right sticky mess behind when removed that only petrol / paraffin will shift lol......... Quote Link to post
