My guess is that a female munty had a small fawn very near to where dog's are exercised. She was aggressive and made the first move in scaring the dog, which meant she attacked them. This was April, so the fawning date would be accurate enough and that is why five dogs were injured in that exact vicinity. IMO.

I though munti breed all yr always seem to hav young around. Could be [BANNED TEXT] on the protecting part would make sense

certain parts of hertfordshire have always been heavily populated with muntys, i can remember catching my first near the box factory in hatfield,1975,simonshyde wood has always been full of them,i can remember the local pack of hounds had trouble,to many muntys, a friend of mine before he went back to ireland got savaged, this particular buck slashed his bitch down the back, and picked up the pup and shook it,he suffered a bite in the leg,and had to have stitches, and these dogs took them regular, not big dogs about 23tts,poxy horrible angry little feks muntys.

gestation period is 8 months and they become pregnent again soon after giving birth, however they do have the ability to hold back fetus development if conditions require it, ive seen fawns all year round. doe`s will sacrafice themselves to protect fawns. old bucks are the ones that do most of the damage

desertdog.i remeber going into woods along the A5 behind the flying fox..andy our wxlg.got hold of a big munty it looked like a large bull teerier that some one had stuck horns onto.it looked like it had been on streoids it was very heavily built .the dog weighed about 45 lbs .he latched onto its back and that munty dragged him across the wood floor .he held on but after a few yards of being bashed about he just couldnt hold it .some of those muntys are very strong.if that munty had gone into attack mode he would have sliced him up like a piece of ham

paulus.i think its best to get some insurance .vet bills can be very exspensive

ive got 3 dogs here, the first is 14 she`s been to the vets 3 times in that time, costs roughly £200, the second dog 11 has never been the vets, the last dog, the one with that slash 6 this year has been once cost £300 so total costs £500 if you work out how much i woulod have paid in all that time every month for 3 years. Then for me insurance isn`t worth the costs involved.
