boroboyoli 0
My friend has struck fortunate but also rather unfortunate at the same time, after inheriting an air arms prosport from a relative. It's a beautiful looking gun and shoots to a high standard however, due to my little knowledge on it I have turned to you lot. As i said he's rather fortunate to have been given this gun but it's in an appalling condition, chips all over the stock and rust marks plaguing the barrel. So we were wandering how much would she cost us too get fixed up and serviced (perhaps with new barrel and stock??)? Atb Oli Quote Link to post
reecemurg 21
if the pitting isnt too bad you can remove it with some oil and very fine wire wool ,, if its very bad ,, you could re blue the barrel your self ,, also if the marks on the stock arnt too bad ,, sand it down and re-finish it Quote Link to post
boroboyoli 0
So how do I go about redoing the stock? Quote Link to post
reecemurg 21
if the scratches arnt too deep ,, sand it down till its snooth and there are no more scratches ,, then buy some walnut or another type of oil and give it a few coats,, im sure someone with better knowledge will help out soon enough Quote Link to post

Craig Fosse 286
Boro, get that stock off mate and sand the stock down 120 sandpaper till u get all the varnish off ( can also use a varnish remover first if u want) when all that is off sand it all the way down going through different grits sand paper all the way to 320, it should be mega smooth, then U can put birch wood casey stock oil (u can get a pack of six bottles for 20 off ebay with all the applicators) the six bottles also includes 3 for re bluing the rifle and getting the rust and pitting off. Moxy on here helped me out last week with the same deal as I have inherited a very old rusty 12g Just take ur time and it shouldn't cost alot http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=360471643883&index=7&nav=SEARCH&nid=04699341123 Hope these help Atb Craig Quote Link to post
