Bass from the Thames estuary

just a pic of a brace of bass from the trip this weekend, biggest just about 9 & 1/2 lb and the smaller just over 5 lb

lost count of the number thrown back due to being 3lb or under.

the second pic is of half of the bigger beastie after being prep'd in my local chinese!!!

I was thinking the same thing. I have caught several which have been around the 4lb mark and they have looked the sort of size as the ones in the Pic'.

Most people I know love the 2-3lb Fish, as one is a nice Meal on a Plate.

weighed by the skipper of the boat as i don't own any scales, no reason to doubt him as the thornbacks we caught were weighed as well and everyone seemed happy, but still, one still in the freezer and the other well eaten and tasted fine ( fed 5 with the noodles and rice!!) :D:D
