Tiercel 6,986
It's all part of the ARU's plan. Give them easy games that do not test them, then hit them hard in the first test. Gats is even talking about full intensity training because the S15 sides are putting out inferior sides against them. TC

The NZ club fans would never forgive their clubs for giving the Lions an easy ride..

Thats without the money that the Lions generate for the host nations, it really is a bad show that they are robbing their own people of good competative games. johnny boy68 11,726
Interesting centre partnership again in this one with Manu at 12 again, Davies is good at running the shoulder so I would imagine they're looking for 12/13 to be in the same mould as BOD and Manu against the Force. The midweek game next week will probably be Roberts/BOD at centre as they were for the Tests against the Boks 4 years ago, glad Parling is getting a start but I'd like to see him partnering either AWJ or POC though. Be good to see the Youngs brothers getting starts especially Ben at 9, he offers a completley different style of play to Phillips and Murray who are the same type of player. Really strong back row again but any back row the Lions will put out is strong, really happy that Jenkins as shaken his calf injury as he'll most likely be a starter in the Test if Healy either isn't fit or gets a ban. I'm hoping the Lions will play a bit tighter game this weekend and start getting some mauls together as the Aussies are all geared up for stopping the big drives off second phase ball and opening the wider channels up, we're a powerful strong team but we'll need the versatility come Test time.

johnny boy68 11,726
Gethin Jenkins out of Saturdays game, Vinupola to start now. He's getting some game time so far and as been impressive with his carrying to date.
Tiercel 6,986
Vinupola will be knackered after tomorrows game, he really does put himself around the pitch and for a big man has a fair turn of speed. It is a pity about the counties numbers otherwise I would have fancied Paul James for a shirt. He can play both sides of the scrum and is a pretty good scavenger. TC He's worked hard out there to date and I like him a lot especially in the loose, your right on James and I think Ken Owens would've been selected too but for the amount of welsh already in the squad. Time for players to start putting their hands up for test places now and with the opposition putting out weak sides its hard for players to perform 100% with the intensity being so low in these games leading up to the tests.
