What a great game and a great way to silence the "naysyers" the win was based on a power game and when played correctly is hard to live with for any team imo, yes its one dimensional at times but when

I like the way people of all nations have got behind the British and Irish lions on here. Some of the vitriol towards other nations players on other sites has to be seen to be believed. On this thread

Well a wins a win and thats about all. The ref aside (Dont like slagging refs off) the Lions looked very nervous and seemed to wait to see what the Wallibes did first before doing their own stuff. 3 i

Well after a nice mooch with the dogs and a think about todays game, here are my thoughts on the team.

Front row.

Played Ok, nothing special but nothing wrong either. Didn't think the replacements had much of an impact. So no change for next week.

Second row.

As above, but just played that bit better than the front row. Same again next week.

Back row.

Again played ok without doing anything flashy. Heaslip was a bit AWOL at times I thought, but on the whole the back row did ok, but maybe need a bit more up tempo next time. No change for next week.

Half backs.

Sexton was solid without shining, got turned inside out by Folau, but who wouldn't have been. He'll start.

Phillips. Needs to play as a Scrum half rather than a 4th backrow. Somtimes i think he's to big for a Scrum half, and likes the rough stuff too much. Times he was a the bottom of a ruck and no one was home in the no 9 berth. He'll start but needs to read the game better next week, let the fat boys do the hard graft and then he can do the fancy sh*t.

Midfield

If Roberts is fit i'd play him with Davies, a-la Wales. Roberts will tie the Aussie defenders in more than Bod can, giving space out side for the real attacking to be done.

Back three.

2 out of 3 to play. Cuthbert will be unlucky, but i think Bowe will play. (Probably would have played today it not for injury) It might be just me but i thought Cuthbert looked slightly out off his depth today. Finished his try well, but just didn't stand out enough.

So, in conclusion. Roberts and Bowe back in. Bod and Cuthbert out, and the rest...........As you were.

I think your pretty much spot on there, can't say I disagree with that but I don't think Gats will drop BOD and move Davies over, I think if Roberts is fit it'll be SA 09 again with Davies being unlucky along with Cuthbert.

Forwards I wouldn't change anything, though if Gatland wants to tighten the game up he may go for Lydiate over Croft though I'd go with Croft again.

The front 5 did there jobs well and it really noticed when they changed it, I'd like to see the Lions go through more phases and be patient(a bit like Wales play), then once you've sucked the Aussie loose forwards in spin it out.

Mike Phillips was poor today and seemed to want to rush things like Arch said, though I'd still start with him. Sexton was solid today did everything right without being flashy.

Did look like a sly one, especially if you pause it and move the slider manually.. :hmm: He's got no reason to make that movement at all unless he can clearly see the ball and is making an attempt to ruck it..

I just watched the game again and Phillips had a shocker, just jogging behind Genia when he took that quick tap forcing North to have to come in and leaving Folau free. Feckin lazy as feck, 5 minutes into a test match and feckin jogging.......boils my piss.

Still scratching my head at some of those decisions, BOD's second turnover pen was 100% legal, the last scrum that yielded the pen was a slip and should've been reset, so a bit of justice with Beale slipping. :icon_redface:
