What a great game and a great way to silence the "naysyers" the win was based on a power game and when played correctly is hard to live with for any team imo, yes its one dimensional at times but when

I like the way people of all nations have got behind the British and Irish lions on here. Some of the vitriol towards other nations players on other sites has to be seen to be believed. On this thread

Well a wins a win and thats about all. The ref aside (Dont like slagging refs off) the Lions looked very nervous and seemed to wait to see what the Wallibes did first before doing their own stuff. 3 i

A little snipit I gleaned today.

British & Irish Lions boss Warren Gatland has revealed his side played against Wales in training last week and put them "to the sword".

Those members of the 37-strong squad not involved in Amlin Challenge Cup, RaboDirect PRO12 or Aviva Premiership finals gathered at the Vale of Glamorgan for a training camp. And Gatland was delighted to see the Lions demolish Wales, who are touring Japan next month, during a practice run.

"I was really impressed with last week, not just over how well everyone gelled but from a technical aspect as well," Gatland said. "Having been involved with the Lions four years ago, there has been a significant improvement in the players technically.

"We're fit, we're big, we're strong and have some real pace. We did some training against the Welsh team on Friday, the forwards did some line-outs and mauling against them. Our backs ran against them and looked really, really sharp and put the Welsh team to the sword.

"They put them under a lot of pressure and came away from that feeling really, really positive."

Gatland, who has taken a break from his role as Wales' head coach while he oversees the Lions, revealed that players from England, Ireland and Scotland were given an eye opener when they convened for training last week.

"Last week we trained with a level of intensity that some of the players from other countries hadn't experienced before," he said. "Some of the Welsh boys hadn't experienced that for a few months as well. It reminded people of what the expectations are."

And one of those backs who shone against Wales and has been given an eye opener in training is Stuart Hogg.

Heard some more rumors today. One of the english forwards has not embraced the cryno chamber as well as the others in the squad, I was not given a name but it's odds on one who is not perhaps as fit as he needs to be.

Hartley set to miss Lions tour for calling Wayne Barns a cheat.

Could mean a chance for Rory Best?

No loss given his previous disciplinary record, can't afford to carry any loose cannons who might see red and cost us at a critical point when the pressures on.. If he can't keep his head there are others more deserving of his pace..

PS, I kind of agree with his sentiments regarding Wayne Barnes though!

He is a bit of a dick head but if you let players get away with this how long before the players start acting like football players and chasing the refs down the field.

The whole ethos of rugby is based upon being civil to the ref and hitting forty sorts of shit out of each other and shaking hands after.

I think Hartley was extremely lucky to be on the tour in the first place imo, so no real loss having Best instead.

I agree 100% mate, it's not on for the players to call the ref on the field of play, and never should be. That's our job with a belly full of beer after the final whistle! :tongue2: :

It could even be to ken Owens advantage even. He is mobile around the field and his throwing is better than bests.

Edited to add: Pity he is injured. Dohhhhhhhh :icon_redface:
