kruby01 114
just wondering if anyone has ever had issues with crosshairs becoming blurry? Ive had it on two scopes now but they are etched crosshairs so im thinking focus but no matter how i adjust it it doesnt become clearer Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Do you wear contacts or glasses? If so OR if not then maybe a trip to the Optitions is in order? Especially if you are medium to long sighted. I have the reverse, croshairs are fine but should i take my glazing off it all goes to hell  Tony Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
quite the opposite actually, when i had my eyetest for the marines i have 20/20 vision and my mate has tried my scope which is the same for him but we are both fine with his scope Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
What scope are you using? I'm thinking maybe it has a touch of moisture in it, or it's a cheaper made scope. Perhaps even the eyebell has been poorly assembled. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Is this a fixed mag scope; one without adjustable front-lens focus?? If so you might need to adjust focus with the eyebell. You might find that is fixed by a threaded screw ????? Or has it progressively gotten worse? Is your rifle a recoiling springer? Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
ive had it with 2 of 3 scopes, the first was the standard stoeger second is a tasco and the 3rd which was fine ive stupidly sold which was simmons all 3-9x40. I think i need to get myself another simmons and yes its a recoiling springer Quote Link to post
Roy Williamson 15
agree with the expert, mr pianoman, I had to twist my objective bell on my non AO hawke 3-9x40 to get it focused at 20m, before I did this I could have target OR crosshairs in focus, but not both. BTW it took a fair bit of effort to get the end unscrewing for the first time Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
thats the problem i have i can only get either the target or the crosshair focused, the stoeger is AO the tasco isnt Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
Kruby you in the marines mate or? Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
no mate i was pretty unfortunate i passed all the tests passed my medical with flying colours then had an asthma attack out the blue the next day and ended up in hospital. they just laughed me away Quote Link to post
hugo1 31
I can only use certain scopes ritcher i find ok but cant us hawke or nikko or mtc very weired my eye sight is fine the crosshairs go in and out of focus Quote Link to post
Craig Fosse 286
Ah I'm sorry to hear that, it's a shame it's a if u have asthma then u can't join however if u discover it a day later and ur already in then u can stay! Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
you have to be 4 years clear and pass a breathing test which i did and the attack was completely out the blue. ive never had one since. been nearly 8 years clear this time so i could re apply but ive got dogs and stuff now and live alone so it wouldn't work Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Perhaps fate was telling you the life of a Royal Marine is not for you and your destiny lies doing something else. I'm a great believer in this kind of thing! Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
Well I was going in just as a foot soldier with the hope of doing marksman training to become a sniper so I guess sniping rabbits is the next best thing. I have mates in Afghan now though and they tell me stories but it just makes me jealous. I want to be there. I just like the movie idea of a sniper and spotter lying in the middle of nowhere waiting for that target. I guess im happy doing sales and my hunting hobby Quote Link to post
